Book summary:
Isaveth’s life is good in the city of Tarreton, although her mother has recently passed away and her family is quite poor. Then, one day, something happens to disrupt Isaveth’s life: her father is arrested for murder. A murder that he didn’t commit.
With the help of a new friend named Quiz, a street-boy who seems to have more secrets than he’s letting on, Isaveth sets out to prove that her father is innocent.
But who could be the true murderer, if not Isaveth’s father? The man murdered was quite influential, but only a few select people could have had motives to kill him. And he was killed by a certain magic that only a small amount of people have access to.
Can Isaveth and Quiz discover who the true murderer is, before Isaveth’s father is sentenced to death for a crime he didn’t commit?
