Book summary:
When Liesel Meminger is taken in by Hans and Rosa Hubermann, she knows her life is going to change forever. When her birth mother leaves her with the Hubermanns, the only important thing Liesel has with her is a book she can’t read. A book that she stole.
Living in the shadow of Adolf Hitler is hard, especially for a young girl. Lucky for Liesel, she had a friend. Rudy Steiner is her next-door neighbor, and he is crazy. But he is her best friend.
Soon after she settles into her new life, the unexpected happens. Something from Hans Hubermann’s past arrives on their doorstep. A Jew. His name is Max. The Hubermanns hide him in their basement, at the risk of their lives. This is the start of major life changes for Liesel and her foster family.

This book was so sad! Rudy was the only marriable character in the book and he... you know. **Cries**
