Book summary:
A year has passed since Jack Buckles’s defeat of the Clockmaker and the discovery of Jack’s family history. Jack is now training to be a tracker, but his abilities are failing, and with his father still in a coma, it’s been hard for Jack.
And now, to make things worse, Jack and Gwen are discovered in the wrong place at the wrong time. They are blamed for stealing a priceless ruby from among the Crown Jewels of England. Soon, they are on the run from the Ministry of Trackers, while trying to prove their innocence and stop the true thief from stealing the other two rubies that make up a group of three cursed rubies: rubies that, if someone has all three, they could control the entire world.
But with Jack’s tracker senses not working, it’s going to be harder than usual.
